Privacy Policy

Hooked Media is a one-person real estate media business in Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina. This page explains what happens to information when you visit hookedmedia.studio or book a shoot. It is written to be read, not to be skimmed past.
The short version
Analytics and advertising tools track visits to this site so I can understand which marketing actually brings in work. If you book a shoot, that happens on Aryeo, and their systems handle your booking details. I do not sell your information to anyone, and I never have.
Information you give me directly
If you email, call, or text, I receive whatever you choose to send: your name, contact details, a property address, and whatever you tell me about the job. I keep that correspondence so I have a record of the work.
If you book through the booking page, the details go to Aryeo, the platform I use to schedule shoots and deliver finished media. Aryeo processes that information under its own privacy policy, and any payment details go to their payment processor rather than to me.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, this one collects some information about visits without you typing anything. That includes rough location (usually city level), the type of device and browser you used, which pages you looked at, how you arrived, and how long you stayed.
Google Analytics
I use Google Analytics 4 to see how many people visit, where they come from, and which pages they use. It also records when someone clicks a booking button, so I can tell how many inquiries the site produces. Google processes this data under its own terms. You can opt out across all sites with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Google Ads
I run, or may run, ads through Google. Google may use cookies to show my ads to people who have visited this site before, a practice usually called remarketing. You can control what Google shows you at My Ad Center.
Meta pixel
I use the Meta pixel, which lets me advertise on Facebook and Instagram and see whether those ads lead to inquiries. It records that a visit happened and whether a booking button was clicked. You can adjust what Meta shows you in Meta's ad preferences.
Embedded content
Some pages include videos from YouTube and 3D property tours from iGUIDE. Those load from the provider's servers and may set their own cookies once you interact with them. Video thumbnails load without starting a video, so nothing plays until you click.
Blocking any of this is straightforward. A browser content blocker, or your browser's built-in tracking protection, will stop the analytics and advertising tools described above. The site works perfectly well without them, and nothing here is required to browse, read, or contact me.
What I use it for
- Working out which marketing produces inquiries, so I stop paying for the parts that do not
- Understanding which pages people actually read, so I can improve them
- Showing ads to people who have visited before
- Responding to your inquiry and delivering the work you booked
I do not sell your information, rent it, or hand it to data brokers. The only parties who receive it are the service providers named on this page, each doing a specific job.
Your photos and the media I produce
When I photograph a property, the resulting images and video are delivered to you with full usage rights. I keep copies as part of my portfolio and may show that work publicly on this site and on social media, which is normal practice for photographers. If you would prefer a particular property not be shown publicly, say so and I will keep it private. That request is always honored.
Your choices
You can ask me what information I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Email jacob@hookedmedia.studio and I will handle it personally, because there is nobody else here to hand it to.
Depending on where you live, you may have specific legal rights over your data, including under the California Consumer Privacy Act. I will honor those requests regardless of where you live.
Children
This site sells professional services to businesses. It is not directed at children, and I do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS and hosted on Netlify. I do not run my own servers, store payment card details, or keep a customer database beyond ordinary email and my booking platform. That is deliberate: the information I never hold cannot leak.
Changes
If I add or remove a tool that handles your information, I will update this page and change the date at the top. There is no mailing list to notify, so checking back is the only way to see revisions.
